Clean Energy Week in Nevada
WHEREAS, Nevada’s robust and diverse energy supply portfolio is powering more homes and businesses than ever before; and
WHEREAS, clean energy is a crucial part of Nevada’s energy supply portfolio and includes renewable sources of energy such as wind, solar, hydropower, geothermal, and biomass; and
WHEREAS, renewable sources of energy accounted for 47 percent of Nevada’s total in-state electricity generation in 2025; and
WHEREAS, Nevada is also home to industries across the clean energy supply chain—from mining and processing to manufacturing and recycling—that promote U.S. energy independence and power the future of clean energy innovation; and
WHEREAS, Nevada has a skilled clean energy workforce of approximately 55,000 with average earnings over $100k; and
WHEREAS, the Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy continues to elevate Nevada as a leader in clean energy, most recently, by launching the Nevada Energy Workforce Accelerator, a statewide workforce development program that will equip more than 200 Nevadans with energy certifications to reduce energy costs for Nevadans and address the shortage of energy auditors and weatherization workers across our State; and
WHEREAS, Clean Energy Week advances solutions for America's energy needs, and we must harness collaboration between Nevada entrepreneurs, small businesses, and government to assert American energy leadership and ensure low-cost, reliable energy choices for all;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the week of September 14-18, 2026, as
CLEAN ENERGY WEEK IN NEVADA
